At the Racetrack, the rocks move. Nobody has actually seen them move, but the trails left behind tell a story. The theory is that during the winter, when the wind blows fierce and a slight amount of water has gathered and started to freeze, the rocks are pushed along. Once the dry conditions return, the tracks in the mud remain behind.

Inyo Mine
I go back to Death Valley NP in eastern California whenever I can, and if possible, drive the old road up to the Inyo Mine. There are a few buildings standing, along with the mine works, and mines (as you can see up the mountain behind this building.) The dry desert air has preserved these buildings for us to look at and think about what it must have been like to live and work here.
